Hello! My name is Stephanie Lunsford, and I am so excited to be entering my twelfth year in education as a first grade teacher at Barton Creek Elementary! I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2007. I began my teaching career as a first grade teacher in Elgin where I taught for six years in first grade and prekindergarten. I came to Bridge Point Elementary in 2013 as a life skills teaching assistant and then a kindergarten teacher. This year will be my third year teaching first grade at Barton Creek Elementary!
As a teacher I want my students to become life-long learners because learning is a process that never ends! I am passionate about always continuing to learn and grow personally and professionally, and I feel this is essential as a role model to my students. My goal for my students it that they begin to develop the skills to become problem-solvers, critical thinkers, effective communicators and collaborators, and self-directed learners.
When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family. My husband and I are foster parents, so you may notice my family can grow or shrink at a moment's notice! I also love traveling, being outdoors, hiking, working out, cooking, being involved in my community, and reading.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I can be reached at 512-732-9180 ext. 25100 or [email protected].
I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you!
